The Folly Cove Designers (1987), a film by Sinikka Nogelo, features interviews conducted in 1985 with five members of the Folly Cove Designer’s jury: Aino Clarke, Louise Kenyon, Lee Kingman Natti, Dorothy Norton, and Peggy Norton. Inspired by the 1982 retrospective exhibition of the Folly Cove Designers presented at the Cape Ann Museum, then called the Cape Ann Historical Association, in this documentary the designers explain in their own words how the group was formed, how the jury was conducted, and how a block was made.

Following the 55-minute screening, guests are invited to a talk-back with Nogelo to discuss her time filming the Folly Cove Designers. Attendees can then head upstairs to view Designed & Hand-Blocked by the Folly Cove Designers, the Museum’s current expanded exhibition examining the art and legacy of the group.

When attending the event, please have your ticket ready and present it to a Visitors Services Representative upon arrival.
