10:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m.
Youth and Family Programs
Downtown Campus, 27 Pleasant Street, Gloucester, MA
This program is free and open to the public.
Every Second Saturday, the Cape Ann Museum is free for all Cape Ann Residents. Visitors of all ages are invited to head down to the CAM Studio during their visit for a new art project each month.
Join us in the CAM Studio to create beautiful needlepoint bookmarks in honor of Women’s History Month. This month’s project is inspired by the recent acquisition of two hand-sewn samplers: one made by Louisa Friend (1809-1876) of Gloucester in 1818, and the second made by Charlotte Somes (1810-1896), also of Gloucester, c. 1818. This craft will use plastic embroidery canvas, plastic needles, and yarn. It is appropriate for young artists and adults alike.
