Second Saturdays: Paper Quilts

Saturday, June 11

10:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.

Community Programs

Downtown Campus, 27 Pleasant Street, Gloucester, MA

This program is free and open to the public.

Every Second Saturday, the Cape Ann Museum is free for all Cape Ann Residents. Visitors of all ages are invited to head down to the CAM Studio during their visit for a new art project each month.

Join us in the CAM Studio to create paper quilts inspired by In Her Mind’s Eye: Doris Elizabeth Prouty. Doris Elizabeth Prouty (1947-2020) was a resident of Gloucester for over 40 years and a self-taught African American quilter. Working in vibrant colors and incorporating an abundance of shapes and patterns, Prouty’s quilts are founded in the traditions of African quilt makers and vividly capture the stories of her life and her community here on Cape Ann.

Stop by the Cape Ann Museum Green for Opening Day - In Her Mind's Eye: Doris Elizabeth Prouty!
