2023 Teen Council Applications

The Cape Ann Museum Teen Council offers paid opportunities for local teens to lead the development of youth initiatives at the Museum. Each year, a new summer cohort of Council Members learn about the behind-the-scenes operations of the Museum, meet key staff and board members, and help design programs and installations to engage their peers at the Museum.
The CAM Teen Council began in 2021 with five students. Each year, the program expands through a new cohort of council members. This year's Teen Council will start in June 2023 and continue throughout the school year.
To date, Teen Council has designed the Cape Ann Museum’s first Teen Arts Night, created a temporary mural based on archival materials at the Janet & William Ellery James Center, and led a variety of youth-oriented programs. Teen Council Members are be responsible for:
- Advising CAM on strategies to increase teen engagement
- Designing fun, engaging events for teens and the public
- Actively maintaining the Teen Council social media accounts
- Learning from and working directly with CAM Staff in various departments
The CAM Teen Council is open to anyone age 14 – 19. Applicants from all backgrounds and cultures are encouraged to apply. Applications are due Friday, May 19, 2023.
The Teen Council meet on Wednesdays from 12:00 - 5:00 pm between June 21 and August 23, 2023 and every first and third Saturday from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm during the 2023-2024 school year. Teen Council Members will be paid $15 per hour.
